Equinor were among the participants during Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre’s visit to Japan in December. Two declarations about stronger Japanese-Norwegian collaboration through the energy transition was signed.

We are happy to inform you that Equinor employees have some opportunities to have a speech or join panel discussion at well-known offshore wind conferences in Japan.

The Hywind Tampen wind farm was opened today by Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. Gullfaks and Snorre are the first oil and gas fields in the world to receive power from offshore wind, reducing CO2 emissions.

Equinor will have a booth together with the Norwegian Embassy at WindExpo Spring 2023 at Tokyo Big Sight from March 15-17, 2023. Our principal engineer Junji Shimazaki will also hold a presentation on new technologies in business development.

Equinor is Happy to contribute to raise awareness of floating offshore wind to local communities.

Equinor strongly believes Japan is the one of the most attractive market with huge offshore wind potential. In the energing stage of industrial development of offshore wind in Japan, Akita jast has had a very important first step be a leader in the market and we expect to see local supply chain development and economy boost through offhsore wind projects.

In June when we were fortunate enough to host some Japanese stakeholders on a visit to Hywind Scotland and Hywind Tampen to learn more about floating offshore wind.
